Whilst you don’t have to worry about your plants wilting away, the game itself is seeing a small but notable decline. Players have started to wonder, is Grow a Garden dying?

Why Do Players Believe It’s Dying
Talks have sprouted on many forums, discussing the longevity of Grow a Garden after a notable dip in its player count. In the past, Grow a Garden had broken records for consecutive players during update weekends, overtaking some dominating classic games. But now, it’s in direct competition with the likes of Steal a Brainrot and 99 Nights in the Forest.
What’s Going On?
A dip in traffic isn’t unusual, but Grow a Garden was once consistently holding 1m+ players. It still reaches that milestone today, but occasionally it sinks by a large margin, sometimes even by half. Though 500k is still impressive by all accounts!
Some players wondered if this huge tank in players was due to schools opening again; however, looking at the competition games (SaB and 99 Nights), those games don’t seem to be taking as big a hit in player count. So, what could it be?
Others speculate it’s the gameplay itself. Grow a Garden pushes frequent updates, which has become a double-edged sword. It makes the game grind-heavy to keep up with the meta, so you don’t miss out on limiteds, leaving some players demotivated or forced to pay to play.
Some even claim that all updates are the same thing recoloured. It may be that players are simply bored with this formula. Grow a Garden, at its core, is a simple, relaxing, gardening simulator. Somewhere along the way, it somewhat lost this message and consistently began choking players with new meta seeds and money values so large we can’t even comprehend them.
Author Note
I myself gave up the grind weeks ago. I couldn’t tell you the last time I played and enjoyed an event. I, of course, don’t expect the game to tailor to me, but this steady decline in interest tells me I’m not the only one.
I just wish that Grow a Garden had more balanced updates. Ones that all players can enjoy regardless of their existing progression, and how frequently they can commit to the game.
Is Grow a Garden Dying?
Not anytime soon by the sounds of things, which hopefully you’re happy to hear!
Roblox games tend to have a lifespan. With so many other games within its hub, trending games come and go, as do the players. Before Grow a Garden, everybody was playing Fisch. Fisch is still around and has begun climbing in numbers again, but it’s no longer the titan it once was.
Grow a Garden will eventually fade into irrelevancy, and that’s okay! We can all look back on it and reminisce about the insane achievements GaG earned during its impressive run.
