What Do Pets Do?
Pets are beneficial to your garden, but not all in the same way. Different species do different things. Here are a few of them.
- Rabbits will eat carrots, but they’ll pay their way, giving you about one and a half times the sale value of the carrot for your trouble.
- Cats will take naps in the vegetable patches. Any crops in the cat’s radius will increase in size.
- Dogs will dig up seeds around the garden.
- Pandas will eat bamboo and pay you for the privilege, like rabbits and carrots.
In general, the pets are handy for passively generating money and seeds without having to visit a seller.
How Do You Get Pets?
Pets come from the Egg Seller, which is in place of the Daily Quest NPC now. You can buy eggs from him, provided they are in stock.
Once you have your Egg, take it to your garden and place it on the ground in your garden. The egg will take longer to hatch the rarer it is. Once the egg is ready, you can interact with it to hatch it. Once the egg hatches, you’ll find out what from a range of species are inside.
The pet will wander around your garden and have effects. Make sure to keep its hunger bar up.
